Form 2848, Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative

Yet another attempt to get my signature on a form containing an affidavit. This one is particulary sneaky since it encourages me to grant a power of attorney to someone, probably an attorney, who will then fully cooperate with the IRS, probably agreeing to whatever deal is offered. This is made even more obvious by the fact that there is another form, Form 8821, Tax Information Authorization which only allows tax information to be released but does not include a power of attorney.
